The information listed below is for current and incoming Rutgers-Camden graduate students interested in becoming a Graduate Program Coordinator (GPC) with the Office of Housing and Residence Life (OHRL). There is a separate process for graduate students interested in our Resident Assistant positions. 

 

Position Overview 

Graduate Program Coordinator (GPC) for Residence Life: ALL GPCs are crossed-trained to serve in multiple capacities within the office, however the core function of this position is to supervise and manage the Resident Assistant (RA) teams of the GPC’s assigned building, including programming, student support, and student engagement.

Graduate Program Coordinator (GPC) for Housing Administration: ALL GPCs are crossed-trained to serve in multiple capacities within the office, however the core function of this position is assisting with the supervision of the Resident Services Coordinators (RSCs), who staff the Welcome Desks in each lobby. The RSC checks IDs, answers phones/emails, and checks in/out packages and guests.

 

Additionally, ALL GPCs, regardless of functional designation, are members of the OHRL Administrator On-Call duty rotation to manage after hours crisis situations. Also, all GPCs serve office hours in the main OHRL offices, providing customer service to students and guests during the business day Monday-Friday.

 

The GPC role is a live-in required position. The 2025-2026 GPC Role begins June 1, 2025, with training taking place over the course of the summer ahead of the start of the academic year.

Qualifications

In order to apply to be a Graduate Program Coordinator you must meet the following qualifications: 

  • Be enrolled full time as a graduate or Law student at Rutgers-Camden  
  • Have a semester and cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Must be in good judicial standing with the University 
  • Minimum one (1) year of living on-campus at Rutgers or another institution is strongly preferred 
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills 

Compensation

Graduate Program Coordinators receive the following compensation:

  • Single apartment in either the Camden Apartments or 330 Cooper Street residence halls
  • Meal plan each semester
  • On campus parking pass each semester at no charge to the student employee
  • 20-30 office hours per week paid at the rate of $17 per hour
