BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Smoke Free Building
In accordance with state law, Rutgers-Camden's residence halls are completely smoke free facilities. Students found to violate this policy face fines and other disciplinary action.
Lock-Out Policy
Resident students at Rutgers-Camden are provided with a key(s) and ID card that allow them to access their building and assigned living space. It is the student's responsibility to carry these items with them at all times. In the event that the student is not able to gain entry to their building or assigned living space, Residence Life staff will provide entry to the student. The Lock-Out Policy details this procedure and resulting penalties for abusing this service.
Guest and Visitation Policy
Residents of the Camden campus are permitted to have guests in accordance with the Guest and Visitation Policy. The policy is in place to ensure the safety and security of the residence halls and to protect the living/learning environment that is the foundation of on-campus community living, while providing residents the opportunity to have social interaction with non-resident visitors.
Noise Policy
The Noise Policy details guidelines that restrict nose levels during certain periods of time within and surrounding the residence halls to allow the community time to rest, relax and study.
Privacy Policy: Prohibiting Cameras, Video and Recording Devices
The Privacy Policy provides a level of protection for residents from being videotaped or recorded within the residence halls.
Solicitation/Gambling Policy
The Solicitation/Gambling Policy establishes guidlines governing solicitation and gambling within the residence halls.
Drug Policy
Rutgers-Camden has a zero tolerance policy regarding drugs in the residence halls.
Alcohol Policy
In accordance with state law, residents under the age of 21 are not permitted to posess or consume alcohol in the residence halls, nor may they return to the building under the influence. The Alcohol Policy outlines these guidelines, and additional information for residents of legal drinking age.
Party Policy
The Party Policy governs how, when and where parties may be held within the residence halls. This policy also provides our definition of what we consider a party.
Policy Against Verbal Assault, Defamation and Harassment
This is a University-wide policy governing three particular areas of student conduct.
Acceptable Use Policy for Computing and Information Technology Resources; Residential Networking Rules
Guidelines concerning the use of computing resources, including network bandwith, on campus and in the residence halls.
Residents' Information
Resident's Information is a section in the On-Campus Living Guide that covers many different areas of living on campus. These include: communication of important information, mail and package delivery, University access to student rooms, and many other critical areas.
Housekeeping Guidelines
The Housekeeping Guidelines provide information on how students are expected to maintain their living spaces.
Judicial System and Behavioral Code of Residence Life
This section of the On-Campus Living Guide details how Residence Life handles behavioral issues that may arise in the residence hall, and explains the rights, responsibilities and limits of the student in judicial matters.
Housing Contract Information
This section of the On-Campus Living Guide provides information pertaining the the housing contract you are completing. Among the items it covers are the types and length of the housing contract, deposit information, and contract cancellation procedure.
Medical or Special Needs
In order to request that a reasonable accomodation be made for a medical or special condition, appropriate documentation must be submitted directly to the Assistant Dean of Students in writing. Additional documentation or review may be required/requested in order to properly evaluate the request.
Use of Fitness Rooms/Centers
The use of any fitness rooms/centers within the residence halls is done at your own risk , and Rutgers and/or its staff are not responsible for injury to residents or their guests due to the use of fitness or other equipment.
Prohibited Appliances and Other Items
There are many items that are not permitted in the residence hall for one reason or another- even appliances that you may use frequently at home. There is a lengthy list of these items in the On-Campus Living Guide.
