Types of Housing Contracts Available:
Calendar Year Contract
The Calendar Year contract allows occupancy for approximately one year. The contract period starts 24 hours before classes for the student’s specific school/program/class year begin. The contract ends in early August for students not returning to housing for the next year. At this time, this is only an option for graduate students and law students.
Academic Year Contract
The Academic Year contract allows occupancy from the beginning of the Fall Semester (24 hours before the start of your program) to the end of the Spring semester (24 hours after the last exam or graduation). The period of time between the end of the fall semester and the beginning of winterim classes, and the week of spring break are not included and all residents with an academic contract must leave on-campus housing during these time periods. Options to remain on campus are available for students with this need. Undergraduates, regardless of where they are assigned to live, may only choose the academic year option at this time.
Summer Contract
On campus housing is available during the summer for graduate, law, and undergraduate students that are taking classes or studying for professional exams. More detailed information regarding these options is released from the Residence Life Office during the spring semester. We urge you to submit your application and the required fees as soon as possible to ensure that a space will be reserved for you.
Undergraduate Extension - NEW!!!
For the 2008/2009 Academic Year the Office of Residence Life will offer an additional option for undergraduate students to help pay for their summer housing costs. This option is called the Undergraduate Extension, and will allow undergrads that are confident that they will be staying on campus for the entire summer to lump their full summer housing cost into their fall and spring housing payments. It will permit occupancy in the residence halls similar to that of the calendar year contract that is offered for graduate and law students. We expect that this will allow students to work with financial aid to meet their summer financial aid needs when financial aid funding is typically available- during the fall and spring semesters.
Undergraduate students that are not sure of their summer plans when they submit their Fall/Spring Contract or not wishing to stay for the entire summer should complete a Summer Housing Contract when they are made available in the Spring semester.
